LCO (Local Coaching Organiser) Vacancy

You may or may not have read in recent addition of code and the Northwest newsletter that there are currently some LCO elections due.

The LCO for Lancashire has stepped down and the LCO position for Merseyside has become vacant. This is due to Dave Cooks’ Full time Canoe England Role changing. We would like to thank Bill Hanham, Ian McMullen and Dave Cook for their efforts.

Who Can Attend Regional Development Team Meetings?

Regional Development Team Meetings are open to all individual Canoe England members as well as members of affiliated clubs. In voting matters all individual members are entitled to one vote and all clubs are entitled to one vote. Anyone can submit an agenda item and we encourage all affiliated clubs to send representatives.

As the regional chair, and on behalf of the Regional Development Team, I report back twice a year to the English Council. This is an opportunity to shape Canoe England’s activities in your region and air your views. We always welcome volunteers who wish to join us

Halton Rapids Vehicular & Pedestrian Access 2011/12 Print E-mail

Due to construction work being undertaken by Lancaster Cohousing at the former Luneside Engineering factory access to Halton Rapids is restricted over this winter. The riverbank is fenced off for 800 metres, the public footpath along the riverside is temporarily closed  and there is currently no vehicular access to the riverbank.  The top footpath will also be temporarily closed during November & December.  It is possible to gain access downstream from the rapids on the South Bank of the river near Denny Beck Bridge.  This will be the easiest point of access for this winter

We should be back using the North Bank (with new facilities) in November 2012.  In the meantime we would appreciate you co-operation, please comply with any requests from Lancaster Cohousing regarding access.
